A little guidance along the way
Here is how we make your portraits together
You bring yourself and an idea of where the photographs will go. We help with the setting, the session and choosing the pictures you want to use.
Let’s talk about your portraits
Start with a conversation
Tell us who needs a portrait and what you have in mind. A website link, preferred location and a sense of timing give us somewhere to start.
If you are unsure of the look, we can discuss a few directions. We agree the session and quote with you before confirming a date.
Tell us what you have in mindChoose a setting that feels right
We look at the background, clothing and places the pictures will appear. For a practice team, we choose a look that can carry across the set.
We also plan the room and arrivals. You will know where to come, what to bring and what the session includes.
A few things to think about before the dayLet us guide you through the photograph
We help you find a position and give small suggestions for posture and expression. You can tell us what feels comfortable and try a different approach.
There is room to ask what to do with your hands or whether a jacket is working. Those decisions are part of making the portrait together.
Choose the pictures you want to use
We agree how you will review the photographs before the session. You take part in choosing the images for editing.
For a practice team, we bring each person’s choice together with the contact checking the complete set. We keep names and intended uses clear.
Receive the finished photographs
We discuss your retouching preferences and prepare the selected images for the uses we have agreed. Your website designer can provide the crops and files they need.
The timing is planned around the session, your choices and the editing. If you have a launch date, tell us in the first conversation.
Come back when something changes
A new colleague or a new website can be a good reason for another photograph. Send us the pictures you still use and what you need now.
We will use the earlier look as a reference and talk through the next session with you.
Plan a portrait for someone joining the teamBefore we meet.
A few things you might be wondering before we meet.
Do I need to know how to pose?
We will help with that. You can arrive with a few ideas or let us guide you through the photograph. Tell us if a position feels awkward and we can try another.
What should I say in the first message?
Tell us if the photographs are for you or a practice team, where you would like the session and roughly when. A link to your website is helpful. We can work through the other details together.
When do we agree the price?
We send a quote after discussing the people, location and photographs you need. The session, selected images, editing and agreed uses are set out before you confirm.
Who helps arrange a practice session?
One person at the practice can coordinate the team and approve the overall look. Each person can still take part in choosing their own portrait.
Can I talk to you about retouching?
Yes. Tell us how you would like your photograph to be edited. We discuss those preferences and agree the retouching before the selected images are finished.
When will I receive the photographs?
We agree the delivery timing for your project. Let us know about a website launch or other date so we can plan photography, image choices and editing together.
